THE CULTURE RECOVERY FUND SUPPORTS MOSELEY ROAD BATHE WITH A £107,200 GRANT
We are extremely grateful to the Culture Recovery Fund for Heritage and the Department for Digital,
Culture, Media and Sport for awarding Moseley Road Baths over £107,000 to support continued
swimming at this historic Baths, to renew the fire alarms systems and to re-launch cultural activities
in the Gala Pool.

Moseley Road Baths reopened after lockdown in early August. As it has done for over 100 years, it
continues to offer swimming tailored for the local Balsall Heath community and for residents across
Birmingham. This will support the continued operation of the Baths into 2021. This grant will also provide funding for a new and upgraded fire alarm system. Lastly we will re-launch the cultural activities planned for Gala Pool. Our Specular Reflecular
Exhibition had to be sadly cut short by the pandemic. This funding offers us the chance to do
something equally dramatic!
Karen Leach, Chair, said: “We are absolutely thrilled to receive this grant from the Culture Recovery
Fund. It will provide financial support to maintain and grow our community swimming, it will renew
our fire alarm systems and will help us put on more cultural activities in the Gala Pool, which had
been cut short by the pandemic. We are looking forward to the challenges ahead and are
determined to keep this much loved community pool open for swimming and for wider for all
residents of Balsall Heath and surrounding areas.”
